Teaching FysNet courses

When teaching your course through FysNet please follow the rules of the FysNet cross-study agreement:

• You are responsible for providing students with access to the teaching materials and electronic systems required for your course.
• You are responsible for organising high-quality teaching.
• In the course description, please include information about the teaching materials and preliminary knowledge requirements that are understandable for students from other universities.

While following these rules, you can freely choose your teaching approach, materials and assessment method. If needed, you can set a limitation on the number of students coming through FysNet. Please notice that you cannot set participant limitations university-wise.

Adding new courses to the list

The course list is updated every year in May. If you want to offer your course through FysNet, please contact your local FysNet contact person (link here).

Why offer your course through FysNet?

FysNet aims to give students an opportunity for flexible physics learning that supports their own degree programmes. Also, specialized courses that students cannot access in their own universities can be studied through FysNet.

In the long run, FysNet aims to lighten the workload of university teachers. How?

Case 1: By offering your specialized course, which normally has only 5 participants, you can gain more students and foster more fruitful learning. On the other hand, specialized courses offered by your collegues from other universities save you from explaining many topics as a part of your teaching. -> You have more time to go deeper into topics relevant for your degree programme teaching and research.

Case 2: You can collaboratively teach fundamental topics with colleagues from other universities. -> Less workload per person. More time to prepare and teach more advanced courses.
